WILD WAY OF THE VIKINGS

Spectacular Natural History meets Historical Epic in a unique, beautiful and revelatory journey showcasing the wildlife of the North Atlantic and its most iconic ancient civilisation.

Highlands: Scotland's Wild Heart

Narrated by Ewan McGregor, this 4 part series chronicles the spectacular wildlife and landscape of the Highlands in Scotland. I had the fantastic opportunity to be a part of this series and work alongside Maramedia and their fantastic team. I filmed and directed episode 4 of the series - 'The Highlanders'.

PERSONAL PROJECTS

END OF ELEPHANTS

A colleague and I worked on a pitch to film a feature documentary on the plight of elephants in Africa. Following the extraordinary lives of an elite anti-poaching team.

HOW THE SOUTH WAS WON

I spent many years filming in South Sudan, before and after independence. There was always the threat of civil unrest breaking out across the country, so I travelled there to make to make a personal film, which follows traditional Sudanese wrestling as a vehicle to bring peace to the country.

CNN HEROES - BETTY MAKONI

I travelled to Botswana with a LA based director Matt Ogens to film a short cinematic story on the incredible work of Betty Makoni. She went on to win the CNN Heroes award, presented to her by Nicole Kidman.

In 2012 Life Unlimited will host three extraordinary experiences in Kenya, East Africa - the cradle of mankind. Our luxurious and exclusive base is Hippo Point, a private and serene wildlife sanctuary located at 6,200 feet (1,050 metres) on the idyllic shores of Lake Naivasha in the heart of the Great Rift Valley – just 25 minutes from Nairobi by private charter. From Hippo Point we venture on two exciting adventures. We head north in helicopters into the ancient remote wilderness of Kenya’s northern frontier district to immerse ourselves in Samburu culture - the tall, lean and flamboyant Nilotic, semi-nomadic pastoralists whose strong profiles, distinctive spears and elaborate hairstyles have given rise to the legend that they may be descendants of the lost Roman legion in search of the Nile. Staying in the only camp in a wilderness area of 850,000 acres - wholly owned by the community - with a backdrop of breathtaking landscape, we let go and breathe in this wonderful but fragile ancient culture, rich with wisdom, and by being there we make a positive contribution to the community’s future. After another spell of exciting experiences with the Life Unlimited team at Hippo Point we fly south-west by cessna caravan to explore and experience big game in a private concession in the Greater Maasai Mara, staying at a fourth-generation luxury safari camp.
